Around & About Bath:Medieval Marvels & Movies

'Medieval Marvels & Movies'  offers you the chance to connect with the local area, experience England's heritage and beauty away from the crowds, as well as step into some of the most recognizable locations (like Lacock and Castle Combe) that have been immortalized in film and television.

Enjoy a fabulous lunch at a quintessential country pub before finishing the afternoon with tea.

You'll explore Lacock and its Abbey, an ancient village and grand house that has featured in numerous productions, in particular the Harry Potter franchise. Stand in Professor Snape's classroom.  Behold where Harry beheld the Mirror of Erised.  Retrace the steps of Dumbledore and Harry through the darkened streets of Bubbleigh Babberton.  Wander down Meryton's High Street and imagine Mr Darcy passing by on horseback (Pride & Prejudice).  Revisit the horror of the kidnapping in Downton Abbey.      Explore Castle Combe, a Cotswolds gem often voted the 'prettiest village in England' and featured in War Horse, Stardust and the 1967 Dr. Doolittle.  Stand in a medieval great hall and explore the house's romantic country garden and ancient chapel.  Imagine life 500 years ago as you stand beside the four-poster bed in a house that's been depicted in Wolf Hall, Poldark, and the Other Boleyn Girl.

Around and About Bath's 'Experiences' are much more than a 'tour'.  They are small, personalised, immersive journeys into the local region aimed at curious, discerning travellers looking to really connect and experience the England locals know but outsiders rarely see.  Each one is a journey off the beaten track, taking guests through England's forgotten history, stories, people and places, and sharing the best of its culture, cuisine and crafts.  Go beyond the usual tourist experience, explore authentic England.

£175 per person

Depart 9a.m. from outside Bath Visitor Information Centre, Bridgwater House, 2 Terrace Walk, Bath BA1 1LN
